Sad Math

Well - we have begun our school time again and today's lesson was in measurements of time. It should have been an easy lesson - instead, it was VERY PAINFUL!!! My twelve year old asked me, "Mom, how many years are in a decade?" I told him, as any good mom would, to go look it up!! He came back and said, "Wow, I am over a decade old but you, Mom are almost 4 decades!!" Yeah, just the encouragement I needed in my day! I said, "Wow, you are right, " trying to keep the smile on my face! Then he plunges forward, "Just think, you are very close to a century!" Now, I didn't need that, that's for sure!! And it hurt even worse when we got to the Millennium - ugh, I think it's time for spelling!!

That's maybe why I am not ready for Homeschooling...but I know he did not mean bad and for a Mommy of 3 (even on her way to 4) decades, you look great!

Hey girlie! I am nearing the half century club. So, don't get too concerned. Let's just hope he doesn't try calculating how many decades until we get our next child :!

Spelling is good--as long as their list doesn't contain words like "elderly", "ancient", or "dowager". :-)

Wow! The joys of teaching your own children! Well, at least you know he learned something today.

LOLOLOLOL Mr.Brian is lovin it over here.Out of the mouth of children.
When I was at the nursing home I always said kids and old people are alike, they can say anything.
And if you go to history you can tell him there was not nearly as much of it (history) when you were in school.
Now do you want me to remind you why you like me?????

That is hysterical! (And I'm 4 decades old this year- official in December- sounds awful!)

*ROFL*
My kids are always reminding me of my age. It's my hubby that jokes with them that I am old. I have to remind him that he's 4 years older than he is.

Here's to 3+ decades!!!
and to many more!!!

I was just looking at your LID countdown -- you are brave to get back in the game again, but lucky Chloe to have a little sister! (Or brother)?

Thanks for visiting me today.

i am of the mindset that we are all getting better with age !!!

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
